One way to get people interested in microtonality is to build instruments.
Some on this site are completed projects, and some are in the process of being completed.
I build microtonal pitched instruments in 19-equal (19EDO), so that they can be played together and ease 12EDO users into a new tuning with diatonic-like qualities. That is, unless the instruments are electronic and/or don't have fixed pitch. I also enjoy working with finding sounds from seemingly ordinary objects and/or processing them with effects.
Instruments that are not only electronic, but feature highly interactive and creative elements with live processing.
Instruments that you can make cheap, that are often indeterminately pitched or create new sounds (also useful for sound design)
Instruments that are tuned in an equal temperament.
